Pottery for Baking & Roasting

We are happy to bring you handmade functional pottery made by artists from British Columbia. We currently have two featured artists with us both from Quesnel BC. Our first artist is Marie Nestel of Nestel Pottery she makes a variety of functional pottery from mugs to roasters. She has two signature glazes, one is a multi coloured glaze that reminds me of patina on copper. The colours range from a rich chocolate brown, patina green, turquoise, dark blue and a creamy beige, like coffee with lots of cream. Her second glaze has an under tone of black and at a distance it looks black but when you look closer you discover a beautiful dark green. This glaze reminds me of a clear, crisp, northern rural sky, far away from the city lights. Where you can see a million stars and sometimes northern lights against the deep black background. Our second artist is Selena Callis of Mud Works Pottery. She has a completely different feel to her work. We have a few of the different glazes she uses but my favourites are the multi coloured glazes. One is a combination of a deep rich brown, a transparent spa green and a incredible blue that ranges from a powder blue to a turquoise and everything in between. This glaze is reminiscent of a winter landscape. The other multi coloured glaze leaves out the dark brown and has more of a ocean side feel. Both of these glazes leave little bits of unglazed clay peeking out here and there. All of our pottery is oven, microwave and dishwasher safe, and all of the glazes are lead free. Enjoy!!

This shortbread pan is raw or unglazed clay. It is 10 inches across from handle to handle and one inch deep, perfect for a single batch of cookies. It has festive little characters on the inside that will decorate your cookies for you. You simply press the dough firmly into the pan before putting it in the oven.
