We sell handmade functional pottery, woodcrafts and unique gifts but what drew us in that direction in the first place? Well here's how it all began. It is 2009, the world is facing the worst economic crises that it has faced in years and I, like many of you find myself unemployed. Now what???? My light bulb moment came one day as I was helping my friend in her pottery shop. I had entertained thoughts of an online home based business but had not seriously considered it. She suggested I sell her pottery online….and the rest is history.
What an exciting journey! This truly was a window opening for me as a door closed and I don't regret one moment of it. I have always loved art and unique handmade things. One of my favourite things to do is to stop at little stores in out of the way places and find amazing things. I love pieces that have a story. The only downside to that is I don't get to travel as much as I'd like. I know there are other people out there that feel the same way and I hope this site will fill that void for all of you!
I feature artists and artisans from Quesnel and other parts of this beautiful province of British Columbia. There are so many talented people out there and I want to give them a chance to reach more people who will love their creations. Quality and all natural finishes are important to me as well as affordable prices. We all deserve to own beautiful things. The best part about owning handcrafted items is that they are not mass produced and there are no shortcuts taken to make an extra buck. The artisan puts their name on it, they are proud of the outcome and they put a lot of love into each piece. It is always much more interesting when someone compliments you on something you have in your home and you can tell the story behind it, “it is hand made by an artist in….” rather than “I got it at the local Big Box Store.”
